This year, the park formerly known as Paramount's Great America opens on March 27, 2011...just in time for Spring Break fun!Throughout April and May, the theme park operates on weekends & holiday/vacation periods only. Then, throughout the busy summer vacation months of June & July, Great America operates daily. Then, as visitors start heading back to school & work in the fall, operations drop back to weekends-only again. October is an exciting month at California's Great America park. That's when the ghouls and demons come out of hiding...and the park's Halloween Haunt gets guests shrieking with fright! Daytimes at the park offer a tamer version of Fall fun. Last year was a very special Halloween time for kids because of the park's new Planet Snoopy area. Snoopy and the Peanuts characters were on hand to help children enjoy a fun...and cute...Halloween theme park experience! What's the only problem with Halloween at California's Great America? The sad fact that it's the last month when the theme park is open every year! CA Great America closes for the season after the Halloween Haunt...and we all have to wait until the following spring to enjoy all the roller coasters, rides & fun once more. California's Great America park will start closing on weekdays this month, but it will still be open on weekends. And, although summer has gone & it's back to school and work for nearly everyone, California's Great America will still be open every weekend for thrill fans to relax, unwind and play. Here are the Santa Clara Great America hours for September, 2011: Thursday & Friday, September 1, 2: California's Great America is CLOSED on these two dates Saturday, September 3 & Sunday, September 4: Great America opens at 10 am & closes at 10 pm for the Labor Day weekend. Monday, Sept 5: The Great America park will open at 10 am & close at 8 pm for the Labor Day holiday. Saturday, September 10: Great America opens at 10 am & closes at 8 pm. Sunday, Sept 11: The Great America park will open at 10 am & close at 7 pm Monday thru Friday, Sept 12, 13, 14, 15, 16: California's Great America will be CLOSED on these five weekdays Saturday, Sept 17: Great America opens at 10 am & closes at 8 pm. CA Great America - October 2011 HoursCA Great America is open every weekend in October, but closes for the season at the end of the month. Halloween Haunt is a separate admission and it is held Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays in October from 7 pm to 12 midnight. Here are all of the hours of operation for October:Every Saturday and Sunday in October: Regular hours will be from 10 am to 5:30 pm. Halloween Haunt opens at 7 pm and closes at 12 midnight. Every Friday in October: CA Great America will not be open for the regular daytime hours. It will be open every Friday evening for the separately priced Halloween Haunt from 7 pm until 12 midnight. Every Monday through Thursday: The park will be CLOSED all of these days.
