Overview of CA Great America's operating scheduleCalifornia's Great America is a seasonally-operated theme park. It's open to guests about 7 months of the year. This year, the park formerly known as Paramount's Great America opened on March 28, 2010...just in time for Easter and Spring Break fun!Throughout April and May, the theme park operates on weekends & holidays only. Then, throughout the busy summer vacation months of June & July, Great America operates daily. Then, as visitors start heading back to school & work in the fall, operations drop back to weekends-only again. October is an exciting month at California's Great America park. That's when the ghouls and demons come out of hiding...and the park's Halloween Haunt gets guests shrieking with fright! Daytimes at the park offer a tamer version of Fall fun. This year will be very special at Halloween time, because of the park's new Planet Snoopy. Snoopy and the Peanuts characters will help your kids enjoy a fun...and cute...Halloween theme park experience! What's the only problem with Halloween at California's Great America? The super-sad fact that it's the last month when the theme park is open! CA Great America closes for the season after the Halloween Haunt...and we all have to wait until the following spring to enjoy all the roller coasters, rides & fun once more. CA Great America's Hours of Operation--May, 2010This month, California's Great America will be open only on Saturdays & Sundays...and closed on all weekdays---with only ONE exception. That's the very last day of the month---Memorial Day. There's some good news to note this month: towards the end of May, the theme park's hours start to get longer! Here is the park's calendar of operations for May, 2010:Saturday, May 1: California's Great America will open at 10 am & close at 8 pm Sunday, May 2: CA Great America opens at 10 am & closes at 7 pm Monday thru Friday, May 3, 4, 5, 6, 7: The theme park is closed on these 5 dates. Saturday, May 8: California's Great America will open at 10 am & close at 8 pm Sunday, May 9: CA Great America opens at 10 am & closes at 7 pm. Celebrate Mother's Day at Great America. Season pass holders: don't forget that today is a super-discount "bring a friend" day! Monday thru Friday, May 10, 11, 12, 13, 14: The theme park is closed on these 5 weekdays. Saturday, May 15: California's Great America will open at 10 am & close at 8 pm Sunday, May 16: CA Great America opens at 10 am & closes at 7 pm Monday thru Friday, May 17, 18, 19, 20, 21: The theme park is closed on these 5 dates. CA Great America's Hours for June, 2010This is it--the month Great America fans have been waiting for: the theme park is now open every day of the month! Water park-lovers will enjoy the fact that Boomerang Bay is open ALMOST every day, as well. Here are the Santa Clara Great America hours for June, 2010:Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday & Friday, June 1, 2, 3, 4: California's Great America opens at 10 am & closes at 6 pm on these 4 weekdays. Boomerang Bay will be closed on these 4 dates. But don't worry...these are the ONLY 4 days that the water park will be closed on this month's schedule. Saturday, June 5: Great America opens at 10 am & closes at 10 pm. Boomerang Bay hours are 11 am to 6 pm. July, 2010 hours at CA Great AmericaJuly, 2010 hours are simple at California's Great America. Here is the schedule:EVERY MONDAY, TUESDAY, WEDNESDAY & THURSDAY: On these 4 weekdays in July, theme park hours will be 10 am until 8 pm. There are no exceptions. EVERY FRIDAY AND SATURDAY: Extra-long hours at California's Great America are the rule for every single Friday and Saturday during July, 2010. Great America's opening time will be 10 am & closing time will be 10 pm; there are no exceptions. ALMOST EVERY SUNDAY: On Sunday, July 4th, there are special hours of 10 am to 10 pm for the Independence Day holiday. On every other Sunday in July, Great America's opening time is 10 am & closing time is 10 pm. BOOMERANG BAY WATER PARK: On every day during July, 2010, the Boomerang Bay water park will open at 11 am and close at 6 pm. There are no exceptions planned; inclement weather could possibly change this schedule at the last minute, however. CA Great America Hours--August 2010The summer 2010 tourist season comes to a close this month. CA Great America is open for most of the month, but it does start to be closed during the weekdays this month. There are only 6 days the park will be closed in August and the rest of the time the schedule is simple to remember. The park opens at 10 am every day that it is open, and loses either at 6, 8, or 10 pm.8 pm closing dates: The park opens at 10 am and closes at 8 pm every Sunday in August as well as Monday to Thursday the 2nd-5th, and the 9th to the 12th. 10 pm closing dates: California Great America will open at 10 am and close at 10 pm every Saturday in August as well as Friday the 6th and the 13th. 6 pm closing dates: California's Great America will be opening at 10 am and will be closing at 6 pm from Monday August 16 to Friday 20, and Monday the 23rd. Dates the park is closed: CA Great America is closed weekdays starting August 24th. September 2010 Hours--CA Great AmericaIn September, CA Great America is open weekends only, except for Labor Day. The entire Labor Day weekend, the park has extended hours, and closes at 10 pm Saturday and Sunday, and 8 pm on Labor Day. The rest of the month, California's Great America closes at 8pm on Saturdays, and 7 pm on Sundays.Saturday and Sunday, September 4 and 5: California's Great America will be opening at 10 am and closing at 10 pm. Labor Day, Monday, September 6: CA Great America opens at 10 am and closes at 8 pm. Saturday September 11, 18, and 25: California's Great America is open at 10 am and closed at 8 pm. Sunday, September 12, 19, and 26: The park will open at 10 am and close at 7 pm. All Weekdays in September: The only weekday the park is open is Labor Day, September 6. Ca Great Adventure is closed all other weekdays. California's Great America - October 2010 HoursHalloween Haunt starts Friday October 1st and is open weekends through Halloween Night. Halloween Haunt is a separate admission from the regular park admission and has its own opening and closing times. All visitors have to exit the park at the regular closing time, then enter again when Halloween Haunt starts. The hours for both the regular operating times and Halloween Haunt are simple. California's Great America opens for regular operation Saturdays and Sundays only from 10 am to 5:30 pm. The park opens for Halloween Haunt all Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays from 7 pm to midnight.All Fridays in October: CA Great America is only open in the evenings from 7 pm to 12 am for Halloween Haunt, and is closed for the regular park daytime hours. All Saturdays and Sundays in October: California's Great America is open from 10 am to 5:30 pm for its normal park operations. Halloween Haunt starts at 7 pm and ends at midnight every Saturday and Sunday. Weekdays in October: CA Great America is closed on all weekdays in October, except for Halloween Haunt on Friday nights.
