How much do Cedar Point tickets cost?
What are the theme park's regular prices? And can you beat them??
Regular-price adult tickets at Cedar Point cost $49.99. If you've been used to vacationing in Orlando, then Cedar Point's full price is going to seem like it's already being sold at a discount! But even, so, there are still good ways to save money on your tickets to Cedar Point...and in this year's economy, that's a very good thing.Cedar Point kid's tickets are ALWAYS sold at a discount! Cedar Point knows how much it means to its guests to hold family outings at the theme park. Therefore, EVERY day at Cedar Point you can buy children's tickets (48 inches or less in height) for only $24. Likewise, Senior tickets are always $24, as well (for guests age 62+.) Are there good ways to save money on your family's visit to Cedar Point this year? Yes, there are! For 2011, you'll find a number of coupons and discounts that will slash your theme park ticket costs...and you'll discover what they are on the rest of this page! If you want to start planning your Cedar Point visit, be sure to see our Cedar Point Hours page to discover when the park will be open.
Early Bird savings for Cedar Point Season PassesBelieve it or not, it is already time to get tickets for next year's season, if you want to take advantage of the Early Bird Savings. Before the season starts and at the start of the season is one of the most cost effective times to buy season passes, and the early bird deals make it only more so. Sometimes savings require planning. Many parks allow their 2012 season passes to be used for the remainder of 2011. Cedar Point is not one of them. The 2012 season pass is only valid in 2012, so this is really an advance purchase on the pass you will be using for the 2012 season. The early bird special for the regular season passes (which are for Cedar Point ONLY...and not for Soak City,) is that you can get each adult pass for only $99 and each Junior/Senior pass for $69.99. This price is good for individual ticket purchases this year. For the 2011 season the price was "2 for $99" meaning that you had to buy 2 to get them at $99 each. As it gets closer to the 2012 season, that 2 for special or perhaps something else which is not as good will likely replace this current special where you can buy them individually at $99.99. Cedar Point Platinum Passes also have early bird prices. The Platinum Pass gets you admission for all of 2011 to any Cedar Point Park...very handy if you love visiting King's Island (or if you'll be doing some traveling to other states this summer.) The Platinum Pass costs $165 for the 2011 season, but you can get them for $159 IF you buy the 2012 Platinum passes now. Similar specials might be available early next year, but will certainly go up as the 2012 season starts. To discover more about Cedar Point's 2012 season passes, here's a link to the park's own Cedar Point season pass page where you may discover all the details (including discount prices for kids and seniors, too.)
2011 Cedar Fair discount coupons and discounts
Grocery stores, newspapers and AAA tickets are good ways to save money
If you're going to visit Cedar Point many times this year, a season pass is surely the best way to get the cheapest price-per-entry. However, not everyone lives close enough or has the time to make more than one or two theme park outings. And, in that case, you'll be able to save money purchasing single-day tickets instead of a pass. There are a number of good ways to get cheaper one and two-day tickets to Cedar Point.1.) Meijer grocery store discount tickets to Cedar Point: The Meijer supermarket chain usually sells discount Cedar Point tickets every year...and 2011 is no exception. Meijer stores do have Cedar Point tickets available for $41.99 for an adult ticket.
Individual stores do sell out of tickets sometimes, but the Sandusky location is located near Cedar Point, and usually always has more tickets than many of the other locations. If you want to make sure they have tickets in stock, the phone number for the Meijer store in Sandusky is (419) 627-7900. Which other Meijer stores have the discounted theme park tickets? Here's a list of the cities where you'll find them; for the exact addresses of the stores, please use the Meijer Store Locator. Ohio locations selling the Cedar Point discount tickets: Sandusky, of course, plus Bowling Green, Columbus, Defiance, Findlay, Lancaster, Lima, Mansfield, Marion, Newark, Sandusky, and Toledo. Illinois locations: All Meijer stores in the state. Indiana locations: All Meijer stores in the following cities will carry the discount tickets for Cedar Point: Anderson, Angola, Fort Wayne, Highland, Indianapolis, Kokomo, Lafayette, Merrillville, Mooresville, Muncie, and South Bend. Michigan locations: All Meijer stores in Michigan.
2.) Drug Mart and Giant Eagle discount tickets for Cedar Point: Tickets are being distributed to stores, but they will not be available in all locations. You might want to call the service desk to see if your store has them.
3.) AAA member discounts: Members of the AAA auto club can purchase discount Cedar Point tickets at offices near the park...or online at www.aaaohio.com, which is the Ohio AAA club's official website. Unfortunately, Cedar Point is not a part of the AAA's "Show Your Card and Save" program. That means you MUST purchase your discount theme park tickets ahead of time. You won't get any discount by showing your AAA membership card at the Cedar Point ticket booths.
4.) Newspaper Sunday Ad Supplement coupons: Cedar Point prints coupons from time to time in various Sunday newspapers. You'll find them in the glossy ad section, mixed in with the coupons for ketchup, dish soap and other household items! Cedar Point wouldn't tell us which newspapers will be having the coupon and when, but if you live in (or visit) the region near Sandusky, keep your eyes open. Simply take the coupons to the park's ticket booths to redeem them.
5.) Hotel discounts: Visitors to the area will want to consider staying at one of the Cedar Point resort's many lodging options (which include hotels, cabins, cottages, RV camping and the exciting Castaway Bay Water Park Resort Hotel.) Why? Because resort guests get some of the cheapest Cedar Point tickets of all---only $29.99 for a one-day adult ticket! If you don't wish to stay at the resort, selected hotels in the area offer Cedar Point discounts (although the discount is less than if you stay at the resort.) You should know, however, that staying at the resort gives you another added benefit: early admission to Cedar Point...which is a very valuable bonus! For further info about the Castaway Bay Hotel (including its indoor water park!) here's the Castaway Bay official website. And to discover the full range of Cedar Point's hotel, camping and lodging options, you'll want to check out the Cedar Point Resort Discounts and info page of the park's official website.
6.) Order Cedar Point's free Getaway Guide brochure; it contains a large amount of coupons! You may get send off for your Getaway Guide on the Getaway Guide order page of the Cedar Point official website. There are a quite a large amount of coupons in this, so order this before the season starts in May if at all possible. At the very least, be sure to send off for yours several weeks in advance of your visit or there will not be much of any chance of this guide arriving before you have to leave on your trip. These guides & coupons are not available at the park...so ordering ahead of time is the only way you can get them. Note: We ordered a Getaways Guide last year, but it did not arrive until it was time to plan for this year's season. Be sure to order your guide early and have a backup plan for coupons if this happens to you.
Types of coupons in this guide: Save $7 on a Funday ticket (From May 14-September 5, 2011) Save $5 or $8 (depending on the night) on a Halloweekends Funday Ticket. Save $5 on a Starlight Ticket Save $10 on two Soak City tickets or $4 on up to four Wildwater Kingdom tickets. Several other coupons allow you to save on things such as midway games, food, Cedar Point Resorts, Castaway Bay, or Michigan's Adventure.

If you don't want to bother heading to a store to find discount tickets, it's always easiest just to use Cedar Point's own internet discounts.Pick A Date are available until September 5. They are only $37.99 for admission, so if you know when you are going to be there in advance, but the tickets soon. The $12 savings off the gate price can quickly add up if you are buying several tickets.Starlight Admission (late afternoon entry) ends this season on Sept 11, 2011. If you don't mind waiting until late afternoon to enter the park, you may get a cheap Cedar Point ticket priced at only $29.99. When can you enter the park? It depends. On dates when Cedar Point closes at 10 pm, you have to wait until 5 pm to get the cheaper Starlight prices. But, on dates when the park closes earlier than 10 pm, you may enter at 4 pm with the Starlight ticket. For details about this discount, here's a link to Cedar Point's online ticketing page. Two and Three day admission tickets include Soak City Admission and are available on the regular admission ticket page of Cedar Point's website. Along with the regular two day admission, there are also special prices for one, two, and three day passes for resort guests. Since the regular season pass does not include admission to Soak City, these two day passes are a great option if you do want your visit to include the waterpark, and if you do not visit Cedar Point enough to warrant buying a Platinum pass. Cedar Point will change their specials throughout the season. For right now, the park's Special Deals & Temporary Discounts page contains the Pay once, Visit Twice and MIS/Cedar Point Combo sale as well as some deals not mentioned here that give extra discounts on food and merchandise. Last year, some of the special temporary discounts included ticket 4-packs (you get a discount when you purchase 4 or more) and 2-visit discounts.
Multi-park & multi-attraction admission discounts
1.) Cedar Point isn't a one-attraction resort; its sister-park---the Soak City water park---is right next door. Soak City has its own separate entrance...and charges its own separate admission fee. However, if you think ahead and purchase your theme park AND your waterpark tickets at the same time, you can save money over purchasing them separately.1, 2, and 3 day Cedar Point/Soak City Combo Tickets are available. (Note: some of the combo packages are ONLY available to guests staying at the resort's hotel.) For information about combo ticket pricing, please see the Cedar Point website's ticketing page. 2.) "Rock and Ride" combo tickets: Guests coming from out-of-town often visit both Cedar Point AND the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame (in Cleveland, OH.) If you're one of the many people who will be doing this, there's a special deal you may enjoy---admission to both popular Ohio attractions for $57 (as of August, 2011). These tickets are available on the Cedar Point website under the "Online Deals" section. According to the website, this deal expires October 30, 2011, but it is likely to come back again next year, too.
