Cedar Point, one of the USA's most popular theme parks, operates on a seasonal schedule. Because of the severe winters and unpredictable springtimes in northern Ohio, Cedar Point opens later than many theme parks in the USA...not until mid-May every year. Fans who wish to travel to the Coaster Capital from warmer areas feel like the calendar moves SO slowly towards Cedar Point's opening day.All total, Cedar Point operates only about 5 1/2 months of the year. But, once the park opens each year in mid-May, it "hits the ground running," and opens EVERY single day of the week! (Most parks that open earlier in the spring begin with a "weekends only" schedule---and short hours of operation---until Memorial Day.) This year, Cedar Point opened on Saturday, May 14th, 2011! If you live in or near Sandusky, lucky you! But if you're visiting from afar, it really isn't too soon to start planning your trip. Here are Cedar Point's hours of operation for August, 2011: Saturday, August 6: Cedar Point's operating hours today will be from 10 am to 11 pm Sunday thru Friday, August 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12: The Cedar Point theme park hours are 10 am to 10 pm on these six dates in August Saturday, August 13: Cedar Point's opening time is 10 am & closing time is 11 pm today Sunday, August 14: Cedar Point's open hours will be from 10 am to 10 pm Monday thru Friday, August 15, 16, 17, 18 & 19: The Cedar Point theme park operating hours will be from 10 am until 10 pm on these weekdays. Saturday, August 20 & Sunday, August 21: Cedar Point's opening time is 10 am & closing time is 10 pm this weekend. There are only 2 schedules: August 1st thru 21st: Soak City Ohio will open at 10 am and close at 8 pm EVERY day during the first three weeks of August. August 22nd thru 31st: Soak City hours on these dates will be from 11 am until 7 pm. September, 2011 hours for Cedar Point & Soak City OhioGet ready to scream---Cedar Point's scary Halloween festivities begin this month! Yes, the exciting Cedar Point HalloWeekends begin on Friday, September 16, 2011! But September is also sad, too. After Labor Day, Cedar Point will only be open on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays. Here's the September theme park schedule: Friday, Sept 2; Saturday, Sept 3; and Sunday, Sept 4: Enjoy extra-long hours for the Labor Day holiday weekend: they're from 10 am until 10 pm all three of these dates! Monday, September 5th: Cedar Point's special Labor Day holiday hours are from 10 am until 8 pm! Tuesday thru Thursday, Sept 6, 7, 8: The Cedar Point theme park will be CLOSED on these three dates! Monday thru Thursday, Sept 19, 20, 21, 22: Park is CLOSED Friday, September 23: HalloWeekend hours of operation will be from 6 pm until midnight today Saturday, Sept 24: Cedar Point's opening time is at 10 am...and closing time is 12 Midnight as the park's Halloween celebration continues. Sunday, September 25: Cedar Point theme park operating hours will be from 12 Noon until 9 pm Monday thru Thursday, Sept 26, 27, 28 & 29: Park is CLOSED Friday, September 30: HalloWeekend hours of operation will be from 6 pm until midnight today Soak City Hours for September, 2011Soak City hours are simple: On September 1, 2, 3, 4 & 5 (Labor Day,) Soak City opens at 11 am and closes at 7 pm. Beginning on Tuesday, September 6th, Soak City is CLOSED for the rest of 2011. Better hurry to Soak City before the Labor Day holiday ends...or you'll have to wait until 2012! October 2011 Cedar Point HoursOctober is the last month of the 2011 operating season at Cedar Point. Halloween activities will be going on at the park all month long.
