Discovery Kingdom---Overview of operating scheduleSix Flags Discovery Kingdom is ALMOST a year-round theme park! Technically speaking, it's a "seasonal" theme park, because it does close for about two months of the year---most of January and all of February.The fun Christmas celebration, Holiday in the Park, runs at Discovery Kingdom for the entire school vacation period---including the first week of January. After that, then all the rides shut down, funnel cakes quit being made, and the park goes into "maintenance" mode. (Yes, there's work to be done, animals to feed, plants to trim...even in the theme park's quiet season!) Six Flags Discovery Kingdom opens its gates to visitors for the new year's operating season in March. This year, Discovery Kingdom's 2010 season began on Saturday, March 6th. For several months, a "weekends & holidays-only" schedule takes place at the theme park. During June and July, daily operations take place. It's summer vacation time---and you may visit Discovery Kingdom every day of the week! All the way through mid-August, a daily schedule reigns at the park. Weekends & holidays during the Fall: Then, during the last part of August, the "weekends-only" schedule kicks back in again. Autumn gets exciting at Discovery Kingdom! First, the eerie Discovery Kingdom Fright Fest takes place. Then, it isn't long until Thanksgiving weekend ushers in the Christmas Holiday in the Park again. You can enjoy all the seasonal fun at Discovery Kingdom if you visit frequently; getting a season pass is ideal. Six Flags Discovery Kingdom Hours--2010Discovery Kingdom operating hours--June, 2010Tuesday thru Friday, June 1, 2, 3, 4: Discovery Kingdom opens at 10:30 am & closes at 6 pm these 4 dates. Saturday, June 5: Six Flags Discovery Kingdom's hours this Saturday are 10:30 am until 9 pm. Sunday, June 6: Discovery Kingdom's opening time is at 10:30 am & its closing time is at 8 pm. Monday thru Thursday, June 7, 8, 9, 10: Theme park hours on these 4 weekdays are 10:30 am until 6 pm. Friday, June 11: Discovery Kingdom's schedule today is 10:30 am until 7 pm. Saturday, June 12: Six Flags Discovery Kingdom's hours this Saturday are 10:30 am until 9 pm. Sunday, June 13: Discovery Kingdom's opening time is at 10:30 am & its closing time is at 8 pm. July 2010 Six Flags Discovery Kingdom HoursThis July, Six Flags Vallejo is open every day until at least 8 pm. July is the prime tourist season, and 6 Flags Vallejo has hours to accomodate them. The schedule is very simple this month, since the Discovery Kingdom is open so much. Every Friday in July: Six Flags Vallejo will open at 10:30 am and close at 9 pm, Friday the 2nd, 9th, 16th, 23rd, and 30th. Saturday 3, and Independence Day, Sunday, July 4th: Discovery Kingdom will be opening at 10:30 am, and will be closing at 10 pm. Every Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday: 6 Flags Vallejo opens at 10:30 am and closes at 8 pm. August 2010 - Discovery Kingdom HoursAugust is the last month in the Summer season at Six Flags Discovery Kingdom. Starting August 23, the park will be closed on the weekdays. As the month comes to a close, the hours will be shorter on the weekends. Sunday, August 1 to Thursday, August 5: Six Flags Discovery Kingdom will be open from 10:30 am to 8 pm Friday and Saturday, August 6 and 7: Discovery Kingdom opens at 10:30 am and closes at 9 pm Sunday August 8 through Thursday August 12: Six Flags, Vallejo will be opening at 10:30 am and closing at 8 pm Friday and Saturday. August 13 and 14: Six Flags, Discovery Kingdom will open at 10:30 and close at 9 pm Sunday, August 15, 22, and 29: Six Flags will open at 10:30 am and close at 8 pm (7pm on the 22nd) Saturday, August 21 and 28: Six Flags Discovery Kingdom will open at 10:30 am and will close at 8 pm Weekdays starting Monday, August 23: Six Flags, Discovery Kingdom will be closed on weekdays Discovery Kingdom September 2010 HoursSaturday and Sunday, September 4 and 5: Discovery Kingdom opens at 10:30 and closes at 8 pm Labor Day, Monday, September 6: Six Flags in Vallejo will be opening at 10:30 am and closing at 7 pm Saturday, September 11, 18, and 25: Discovery Kingdom will open at 10:30 am and close at 7 pm Sunday, September 12, 19, and 26: The park will be open at 10:30 am and closed at 6 pm Weekdays in September: The only weekday in September Six Flags, Discovery Kingdom will be open will be Labor Day. All other weekdays, the park will be closed October 2010 Hours - Discovery Kingdom, VallejoFright Fest starts the first Saturday in October, and continues until Halloween Sunday. Six Flags will be open late to accommodate Fright Fest, but it will also open later to make up for that. Saturday and Sunday, October 2 and 3: Six Flags, Discovery Kingdom will open at 12 noon and close at 8 pm Saturday, October 9, 16, 23, and 30: Six Flags in Vallejo will be opening at 12 noon and closing at 10 pm Sunday, October 10, 17, 24, and 31: Discovery Kingdom opens at 12 noon and closes at 9 pm Friday, October 29: The park will open at 4 pm and close at 10 pm Weekdays in October: Friday, October 29 is the only weekday that Six Flags Discovery Kingdom will be open. All other weekdays, the park will be closed.
