Six Flags Discovery Kingdom is ALMOST a year-round theme park! Technically speaking, it's a "seasonal" theme park, because it does close for about 2 1/2 months of the year---most of January, all of February, and part of March.Six Flags Discovery Kingdom opens its gates to visitors for a brand new season every March. This year, Discovery Kingdom's 2011 season will begin on Saturday, March 19th. For several months, a "weekends & holidays-only" schedule will take place at the theme park. During June and July, daily operations give summer vacationers plenty to do. It's Discovery Kingdom's busiest season---and you may visit the park every day of the week! All the way through mid-August, a daily schedule reigns at the park. Weekends & holidays during the Fall: Then, during the last part of August, the park's "weekends-only" schedule kicks back in again. Autumn gets exciting at Discovery Kingdom! First, the eerie Discovery Kingdom Fright Fest takes place. Then, it isn't long until Thanksgiving weekend ushers in Holiday in the Park, the Christmas celebration that gives families good times & nostalgic memories that can last a lifetime. You can enjoy all the seasonal fun at Discovery Kingdom if you visit frequently. Getting a season pass is ideal. Six Flags Discovery Kingdom Hours--2011Six Flags Discovery Kingdom September 2011 HoursDiscovery Kingdom is open every weekend in September as well as Labor Day. The Hours are fairly simple. The park opens at 10:30 am every Saturday and Sunday, and closes between 6 and 8 pm, depending on the date. Saturday and Sunday, September 3, 4: Six Flags Discovery Kingdom opens at 10:30 am and closes at 8 pm Labor Day Monday, September 5: 6 Flags Discovery Kingdom opens at 10:30 am and closes at 7 pm Saturdays, September 10, 17, 24: The park will be opening at 10:30 am and closing at 7 pm these three Saturdays Sundays, September 11, 18, 25: Six Flags Discovery Kingdom will open at 10:30 am and close a 6 pm these three Sundays October 2011 Hours - Six Flags Discovery KingdomEvery Saturday in October: Six Flags Discovery Kingdom will be opening at 12 noon and closing at 10 pm every Saturday in October Every Sunday in October: Every Sunday in October, 6 Flags Discovery Kingdom will be open from 12 noon to 9 pm Friday, October 21 and 28: These two Fridays, the park opens at 4 pm and closes at 10 pm Any Day Not Specifically Mentioned Above: Six Flags Discovery Kingdom will be CLOSED every weekday except the 21st and 28th of the month. Discovery Kingdom November and December 2011 HoursWhile many parks across the nation close after the Halloween season, Six Flags Discovery Kingdom does not. It is only open 5 days in November, but it does stay open and it has many more days open in December. Here is a detailed list of the operating hours: November 2011 Hours Saturday and Sunday, November 5,6: Six Flags Discovery Kingdom will open at 11 am and close at 5 pm Friday and Saturday, November 25 and 26: The two days after Thanksgiving, Discovery Kingdom will be opening at 2 pm and closing at 9 pm Sunday, November 27: The park opens at 2 pm and closes at 8 pm Saturday, December 3, 10, and 17: The first three Saturdays in December, Discovery Kingdom will open at 2 pm and close at 9 pm Sunday, December 4, 11, 18: The first three Sundays in December, Six Flags in Vallejo opens at 2 pm and closes at 8 pm Monday thru Friday, December 19-23: The week before Christmas, Discovery Kingdom will be open from 2 pm until 9 pm. This includes December 19, 20, 21, 22, and 23. Six Flags Discovery Kingdom is CLOSED Christmas Eve and Christmas Day Monday through Friday, December 26 to 30: The week between Christmas and New Years Eve, the park will be opening at 11 am and closing at 6 pm. This includes December 26, 27, 28, 29, and 30. New Years Eve Saturday, December 31: This New Years Eve, Six Flags Discovery Kingdom in Vallejo, California will open at 4 pm and close at 12 midnight Discovery Kingdom is also open New Year's Day!If you'd like to visit Six Flags Discovery Kingdom on New Year's Day 2012, then you can---the park is OPEN! Hours will be from 11 am until 6 pm on Jan 1, 2012. What better way to ring in the New Year? January 1, 2012 is also the LAST day of Discovery Kingdom's 2011 operating season. Beginning Monday, January 2nd, the park will be CLOSED until the beginning of the 2012 season.
