If you're an Orlando tourist who loves bargain-hunting, you'll want to know about the Festival Bay mall.Strictly speaking, Festival Bay is not an outlet mall. It's a "hybrid mall," meaning that it offers both outlet and "regular" shopping...along with restaurants and entertainment. It's a beautiful indoor (climate controlled!) mall which opened brand-new in 2002. One unusual---and stunning---feature is a large lake which decorates the front of the mall...and continues on INTO the mall, forming a lovely centerpiece to the center's main atrium. Why should you visit Festival Bay? If you're looking strictly for outlet shopping, why should you visit a hybrid mall? For one thing, Festival Bay Mall sits across the street from Orlando's biggest outlet mall, the Orlando Prime Outlets. Therefore, if you're an outlet mall-lover, you'll be in the immediate area of Festival Bay anyway. Even better, however, are the bargains you'll find. Though prices fluctuate, we have been able to find some really good bargains at Festival Bay---even better than some of Orlando's other outlet malls. And, even good bargains at some of the stores which were supposedly "full retail" shops. Our savings were impressive enough that we're definitely going to return...and we hope you have the same good fortune if you should give the mall a try. In addition, your entire family can enjoy their afternoon at the Festival Bay mall (instead of groaning that they "have to go shopping instead of having fun!") Tots, teens and people who normally hate shopping will all find fun places which cater to their interests here. At Putting Edge, the lights are low, but dozens of decorative special effects are brightly lit in black lighting to add to your fun.
