If you wait to buy your tickets at the Great Adventure ticket booths, you'll have to pay $59.99 for each adult/teen ticket you buy. And, kids tickets will cost you $36.99 each. (A "child" at Great Adventure means kids under 54 inches in height.) At these prices, the cost your family will spend to enjoy a day at the theme park adds up fast!

Are there ways to get cheaper Great Adventure tickets? Sure there are...BUT, you'll have to plan ahead in order to get good savings. On this page, you can discover some of the park's current specials and discounts.

List of best Great Adventure discount ticket deals for 1 day admission

SixFlags.com's print-at-home ticket deals are a very easy way to save money on Great Adventure admission prices. Tickets ALWAYS cost less on the Six Flags official website than at the theme park---always. And why not? When you purchase tickets online, you don't need to spend time face-to-face with an employee to purchase them, which saves the theme park money. But, why are they willing to pass that savings along to you? Because, once you buy your tickets online, you WILL go to the park. It's a "done deal." But, if they allow you to slip away without purchasing your tickets, you might never make it there. You may go to the beach instead...or shopping...or one of a zillion other choices that are available to you. The park wants you to be firmly committed to your Great Adventure plans--and they're willing to give you a discount if you'll make that commitment.

Currently, at the time of this update, one-day tickets cost only $36.99 when you take advantage of the Six Flags print-at-home discount. This price can change at any moment, so to check for current web-only print-at-home prices, here's a link to the Six Flags Great Adventure tickets and discounts page.

2.) ARES Travel discount tickets for Great Adventure: The ARES Travel Agency, which specializes in discount travel arrangements and attraction tickets, offers cheap Six Flags Great Adventure tickets. The ARES special offer is a print-at-home discount, so you would need to order from a computer that has access to a printer. It would be a good idea to check the current price of Great Adventure discount tickets from ARES Travel, because sometimes they offer a price that's cheaper than the park's own website discounts.

3.) Great Adventure Facebook Fan discounts and contests: You can sometimes find very limited-time discounts and contests by becoming a "fan" of Great Adventure on Facebook. If you're a member of the Facebook community, you'll probably enjoy checking out the Great Adventure fan page. Even if you don't win any free Great Adventure tickets in one of their contests, you'll be able to make posts...and even ask questions you always wanted to know about the park. (They have a park rep who reads people's posts & makes replies.)

4.) Coke Can discounts at Great Adventure have ended: During most of the 2011 operating season, you could bring a can of Coca Cola to the park and get $20 off each adult/teen admission ticket. However, the Coke Can discount is now over for this year; watch for it again in 2012--it's a yearly tradition!

5.) Merchant discount coupons: For Summer 2011, there were several places where you could find Six Flags Great Adventure discount coupons. These coupons have disappeared from most locations by now, but hang onto them if you were able to get some...because they may be used all the way through their printed expiration dates.

a.) McDonald's coupon: If you got one of the McDonald's coupons, they're good for $20 off the purchase of adult/teen tickets at Great Adventure.

b.) Wawa coupon: If you have one of the Wawa coupons, you'll be able to get a $20 off your admission to Six Flags Great Adventure.

c.) Post Cereal coupons for Great Adventure are now expired: This past summer, you could get a FREE child's ticket to Great Adventure courtesy of Post Cereals. However, this discount expired in mid-October...so if you haven't used your Post coupon by now, you'll just have to throw it away & find a different discount.

d.) Tony's Pizza discount coupons for Great Adventure have now expired: You could find a discount coupon good at Great Adventure when you purchased specially-marked boxes of Tony's Pizza this past summer. However, the Tony's discount coupons expired on October 11, 2011.

6.) Great Adventure season pass holders have discount coupons! If you know a season pass-holder, ask him or her to look in the coupon book that all Great Adventure pass holders are given. (Many season pass holders don't remember that they have valuable discount coupons! Every year, many good coupons---for deep discounts and "free friend" days---are not even used.) If you don't have a friend who's a passholder, consider buying season passes for some of your family members...so that other family members can get in cheaply---or even free---on the dates of "bring a friend" specials! For more information the advantages of having an annual pass to the park, please see the "Great Adventure Season Pass Discounts" section (below on this page.)

7.) Great Adventure military discounts: Current members of the military DO get a discount to the Great America theme park. The bad news? You can't get this discount at the gate. According to Great Adventure, "Most military bases offer discounted admission tickets at their MWR/ITR offices." So, think ahead and save money!

8.) AAA discount to Great Adventure: There IS an AAA discount to Great Adventure. The bad news? It's not a very big one compared to the park's own print-at-home discounts. The good news, though, is that you CAN use the AAA discount at the park's ticket booths through AAA's "Show your card and save" program. So, if you haven't thought ahead to print your tickets, then a small discount is certainly better than no discount at all!

Great Adventure Season Pass discounts

2012 Season Passes can save you TONS of money!

Picture: 6 Flags Great Adventure's Big Red Cars kiddie ride 1.) Season passes can save frequent visitors lots of money!

The 2012 season passes are now available for $64.99. (This is a 2-park pass for Great Adventure & the Safari Park.) This deal is almost certainly going to be the best price of the season and you can return to the park as many times as you like in 2011 and 2012...including Fright Fest in the Fall of 2011 and 2012. Also, with this pass, you may visit the Wild Safari park as often as you like. Even so, the park knows that this is a large amount of money for most guests, and they are willing to help you get the pass in several ways.

A.) Four-packs of Season Passes are available at a discount: you may purchase each pass for only $59.99 with Free parking: If you have a family, you may now save $5 off of each pass by getting 4 or more. There almost certainly will not be a better deal on these passes than what is available now.

B.) Theme park/Water Park combo pass: An even-better deal is getting the park's Combo Pass which includes the Hurricane Harbor water park. You can add admission privileges to Hurricane Harbor for very little extra. If you love to swim & slide, it's a terrific way to get lots more summertime entertainment for a cheap price.

If you'd like to take advantage of these 2012 season pass special offers, here's a link to the Six Flags Great Adventure tickets and season passes page where you can get further information.

C.) Season Pass Coupon Book: In addition to getting admitted to Great Adventure until the end of the 2012 season, you'll get the following extra benefits if you purchase a season pass--

* You'll receive a Great Adventure discount coupon book when you buy a season pass (although it won't be available for you to pick up at the park until Spring 2012.) You will find about a dozen "bring a friend cheap" coupons...and even some "bring a friend FREE" coupons. (Note: these coupons are only good on select dates or during select time periods.) You'll find discounts on merchandise, food, games and photos, too.

* You can get FREE admission into the other theme parks owned by Six Flags! This offer is true no matter what Six Flags park you're at when you buy your season pass. This is a terrific deal for anyone living in the New Jersey area because there are 3 other Six Flags parks close enough to enjoy on a fun weekend getaway! (These are: Six Flags America near Washington DC; Six Flags New England in Massachusetts; and The Great Escape in Lake George, New York.) Not only will you have some local fun, you'll also have more fun on your vacations, too!

2.) You may also save money by getting your season pass at Six Flags America this year. Six Flags America (near Washington DC & Baltimore) isn't as big as Great Adventure...and it costs less for a season pass. If you'll be visiting that area, you will be able to save money when you buy your pass...and, of course, you can use it at Great Adventure, too.
