Whether you're looking for extreme thrills...or want a mild family outing with kids...the well-rounded Great Adventure park has LOTS of entertainment for all ages and interests. On this page, you'll find strategies for getting deals and discounts to this popular theme park.
List of best Great Adventure discount ticket options
1.) The easiest way to get Great Adventure discount tickets is to use the www.SixFlags.com print-at-home ticket deals. Tickets ALWAYS cost less on the Six Flags official website than at the theme park---and why not? When you purchase tickets online, you don't need to spend time face-to-face with an employee to purchase them, which saves the theme park money. But, why are they willing to pass that savings along to you? Because, once you buy your tickets online, you WILL go to the park. It's a "done deal." But, if they allow you to slip away without purchasing your tickets, you might never make it there. You may go to the beach instead...or shopping...or one of a zillion other choices that are available to you. The park wants you firmly committed to your Great Adventure plans--and they're willing to give you a discount to make that commitment. To check for current web-only print-at-home discounts, here's a link to the Six Flags Great Adventure tickets and discounts page.
2.) ARES Travel discount tickets for Great Adventure: The ARES Travel Agency, which specializes in discount travel arrangements and attraction tickets, offers cheap Six Flags Great Adventure tickets. The ARES special offer is a print-at-home discount, so you would need to order from a computer that has access to a printer. It would be a good idea to check the current price of Great Adventure discount tickets from ARES Travel, because sometimes they offer a price that's cheaper than the park's own website discounts.
3.) Stride Gum's Great Adventure discount coupon: Stride Gum is sponsoring Spring Break activities at Six Flags Great Adventure. To help guests enjoy the fun at very affordable prices, Stride is offering an "Everyone Pays Kids Price" coupon on its Facebook page. This is a terrific Great Adventure discount coupon, plus it's good at other Six Flags theme parks you might be visiting, such as Six Flags America. Here's a link to Stride Gum's Six Flags/Discovery Kingdom discount coupon. Note: nobody is sure when this coupon will be taken off of Facebook. So, to be on the safe side, print it up now & save it until you need it; this good Six Flags discount coupon doesn't expire until October, 11, 2010.
4.) Post Cereal discount coupons to Great Adventure: If you enjoy breakfast cereal, you'll want to check for specially-marked boxes of Post cereals which have a discount coupon for Six Flags Great Adventure printed inside them. (It's on the inside of the box itself...so open it carefully!) With the Post coupon, adults may purchase a Great Adventure ticket for the price of a kid's ticket! These coupons must be used at the Great Adventure ticket booths, and may not be combined with other discounts. Like all discount coupons that are used at the park's ticket booths, you do NOT need a debit or credit card; cash works just fine with this discount.
5.) Great Adventure Facebook Fan discounts and contests: It's new for 2010: you can now become a "fan" of Great Adventure on Facebook. Even before the park opened this year, the Six Flags Great Adventure Facebook page held a contest. If you're a member of the Facebook community, you'll probably enjoy checking out the Great Adventure fan page. (Simply do a quick search for "Six Flags Great Adventure, and you'll find it.) Even if you don't win any free Great Adventure tickets in one of their contests, you'll be able to make posts...and even ask questions you always wanted to know about the park. (They have a park rep who reads people's posts & makes replies.) Here's a current Facebook discount for Great Adventure tickets! You can get in on this deal IF you can visit Six Flags Great Adventure on August 20th. This date is the official "Autism Awareness Day" at Great Adventure. Tickets for 8/20 cost only $25 (plus tax) when purchased on the SixFlags.com website using the promo code SPEAKS. A portion of your ticket sales will go towards helping this worthy cause, as well.
6.) Coke Can discounts at Great Adventure: Bring a Coke can to Six Flags Great Adventure to receive a discount! (According to a park rep, you don't need a specially marked can; you can use any can of Coca Cola.) The Great Adventure Coke discount is for 2 admission tickets for $54.99. (Or, you may use the Coke can discount to get $6 off of one New Jersey Hurricane Harbor admission, instead.) Coke discounts may NOT be used online in combination with the Six Flags print-at-home discount. You should take your can to the Great Adventure ticket booths to claim your special deal.
7.) Merchant discount coupons: As of July, 2010, the following merchants have Six Flags Great Adventure coupons: McDonald's, Wendy's, and Wawa. From time to time, Six Flags Great Adventure has had coupons distributed through local businesses (such as Dunkin' Donuts.) It's difficult to say when and where you might find merchant coupons, because they come and go rapidly, and they're not distributed in every geographical area. (In other words, you may find a Great Adventure coupon at a particular fast food restaurant, but your friend living in another city might not.) If you can't find one, the good news is that these coupons usually give you about the same discount as Six Flags' own print-at-home discounts. The big advantage of coming across a coupon is that you don't need a credit or a debit card to take advantage of the offer. You may use cash to buy it at a Great Adventure ticket window.
8.) Great Adventure season pass holders have discount coupons! If you know a season pass-holder, ask him or her to look in the coupon book that all Great Adventure pass holders are given. (Not every pass holder remembers that they have valuable discount coupons! Every year, many good coupons---for deep discounts and "free friend" days---are not even used.) If you don't have a friend who's a passholder, consider buying season passes for some of your family members...so that other family members can get in cheaply---or even free---on the dates of "bring a friend" specials! For more information the advantages of having an annual pass to the park, please see the "Great Adventure Season Pass Discounts" section (below on this page.)
9.) Great Adventure military discounts: Current members of the military DO get a discount to the Great America theme park. The bad news? You can't get this discount at the gate. According to Great America, "Most military bases offer discounted admission tickets at their MWR/ITR offices." So, think ahead and save money!
10.) AAA discount to Great Adventure: There IS an AAA discount to Great Adventure. The bad news? It's not a very big one compared to the park's own print-at-home discounts or the Coke can discount. The good news, though, is that you CAN use the AAA discount at the park's ticket booths through AAA's "Show your card and save" program. So, if you haven't thought ahead to print your tickets, then a small discount is certainly better than no discount at all!
11.) Lukoil contest to win FREE Great Adventure tickets: If you're a resident of Connecticut, Delaware, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York or Pennsylvania, you may enter a contest sponsored by Lukoil...with the possibility of winning as many as 10 Six Flags Great Adventure tickets (along with other perks, such as premium seating at shows.) Here's a link to the Lukoil Six Flags Coaster Challenge Contest entry page, where you may sign up. Good luck!
12.) Discovery Card discounts at Great Adventure: Discovery Card members receive a 5% discount on Six Flags Great Adventure tickets...and theme park merchandise, too. Another good perk is getting to use the special Discover Card Entrance lane during the first two hours that the theme park is open. That's a big time saver which will keep you from waiting so long to get into the parking lot!
13.) Club TPR discount to 6 Flags Great Adventure: Have you heard of Club TPR? It's a theme park discount card that's been created by the Theme Park Review website. For only $40, you get a discount card that has benefits at dozens of different theme parks...and Great Adventure is one of them! The Club TPR special offer for Great Adventure is for $24.99 off of the park's full-price tickets...a very good discount. Here's a list of Club TPR's theme park discounts and info about how you can join.
Great Adventure Season Pass discounts
1.) Plan ahead---early-season and late-season discounts can save you money! Some times these early or late-season discounts are offered, and sometimes they're not.Spring early-bird discounts on season passes are often the best deal. Why? Because in the spring, the weather is just starting to warm up again. People are busy with school & work...and they're not thinking about going to a theme park. Spring attendance is a lot lighter at Great Adventure, and the lure of cheap season passes helps to get people to the park when they probably wouldn't visit otherwise. If season pass sales are sluggish, Great Adventure will offer periodic sales to encourage people to buy them, even if it's not early or late in the season. To see if there are currently any special deals, you may use the following link to check the Six Flags Great Adventure tickets and season passes page. 2.) Buy a season pass...even if it's NOT on sale: If you want to get a season pass in the middle of summer, you'll pay full price for it. Even so, it's a good deal for avid theme park enthusiasts who will actually USE a pass. In addition to getting admitted to Great Adventure until the end of the season, you'll get the following extra benefits-- a.) You'll receive a Great Adventure discount coupon book when you buy a season pass. You will find about a dozen "bring a friend cheap" coupons...and even some "bring a friend FREE" coupons. (Note: these coupons are only good on select dates or during select time periods.) You'll find discounts on merchandise, food, games and photos, too.
b.) You can join the Six Flags FUNATICS program for Season Pass Holders...and get discount coupons for perks in the park (such as free soda or a free front-of-line pass for one ride.) c.) You can get FREE admission into other theme parks owned by Six Flags! This offer is true no matter what Six Flags park you're at when you buy your season pass. This is a terrific deal for anyone living in the New Jersey area because there are 3 other Six Flags parks close enough to enjoy on a fun weekend getaway! (These are: Six Flags America near Washington DC; Six Flags New England in Massachusetts; and The Great Escape in Lake George, New York.) Not only will you have some local fun, you'll also have more fun on your vacations, too! d.) For only a small amount, you can add admission to Hurricane Harbor and Wild Safari to your Great Adventure season pass. It's a really good deal for people who enjoy the water park and the animal park.
3.) Consider getting your season pass at Six Flags America this year. Six Flags America (near Washington DC & Baltimore) isn't as big as Great Adventure...and it costs less for a season pass. If you'll be visiting that area, you may be able to save money when you buy your pass...and, of course, you can use it at Great Adventure, too.
