Overview of Great Adventure's park scheduleSix Flags Great Adventure is a seasonally-operated theme park. It's open about 7 months out of each year...from approximately Spring Break time until the end of the Halloween Fright Fest season.During the Spring and Fall, 6 Flags Great Adventure is open only on weekends and during vacation periods. When the weather is sunny and warm, these can be some of the best months to visit both Great Adventure and its sister-park, Six Flags Wild Safari (a drive-through animal park adjacent to the theme park.) Crowds can be much lighter because not everyone has the topic of theme parks on their mind at these times. Summer days can be very crowded at Great Adventure. However, the park's schedule of shows and entertainment is at its fullest during the summer months---and the park's hours of operation are at their longest. Six Flags Great Adventure opens on Saturday, April 9th for its 2011 operating season! Then, it will be open on selected dates during the Spring. (Great Adventure won't open daily until May, 25, 2011...so be sure to check the calendar if you want to visit the park sooner. It's no fun to show up with the park isn't open!)The Six Flags Wild Safari park is open from 9 am until 4 pm on all dates that the theme park is in operation. But don't worry...the park's hours will soon get longer.Great Adventure's full-time daily schedule began May 25th! Great Adventure Hours-August 2011The summer tourist season ends in August and many theme parks from around the country start closing. Six Flags Great Adventure, however will not be closed weekdays until September.
