Kraken is a floorless roller coaster, meaning that once you board, the temporary flooring at the station drops away, and your feet will go flying in the breeze! (In fact, if you're wearing flip flops, you'll be asked to remove them during the ride. They could fly off of your feet and clonk some unsuspecting tourist in the head!)You'll begin the ride by climbing up a tall hill...and then the looping, upside-down fun begins. Riders sit 4-across on the floorless trains, and wear protective harnesses which go over the head and shoulders for an absolutely safe ride (as you can tell from the Kraken pics on this page.) How tall is the Kraken roller coaster? Kraken is 149 feet tall. How tall is that? Well, the Statue of Liberty in New York is 151 feet tall (not counting the base on which it rests.) So, Kraken is just about as tall as the Statue of Liberty! How fast does the Kraken roller coaster zoom? You'll soar along Kraken's tracks at speeds reaching 65 mph. Is the Kraken roller coaster smooth? In my opinion, Kraken runs smoothly, without excessive bumping of jostling around. Each rider will have to reach his or her conclusion, however.
