The penguins are so beguiling, you just might lose your heart to them! What's inside the "Penguin Encounter" building?What kinds of things will your family see and do?
What's inside Sea World Orlando's Penguin Encounter attraction?Penguins! Of course, you knew that fact already...but you will still be totally stunned at how very MANY penguins you'll observe during your Penguin Encounter tour. 
As you enter the darkened building, your first task will be to step onto a slowly-moving sidewalk which glides you past a large, enclosed penguin habitat. You'll view what looks like rocky, snow-covered antarctic terrain. It's a beautiful setting, and quite realistic-looking, too. What's definitely NOT fake is the temperature inside the climate-controlled enclosure. The viewing glass not only keeps the penguins from wandering around the building; it also protects the guests from having to endure the same chilly temperatures that the penguins enjoy so well. However...don't blame yourself too harshly if you totally ignore the attractive educational info. Your eyes will be totally riveted upon the dozens and dozens of penguins at this point! In fact, not every Sea World guest has seen enough of the penguins by the time the moving sidewalk reaches its end. If that's YOU, don't worry! There's a non-moving observation deck you may use to keep enjoying the penguins for as long as you'd like. 
Upon leaving the animal viewing area, you'll enter a fun lab where learning about penguins is made easy and exciting for you!
You'll see pictures, read blurbs, watch TV monitors...and even find a photo backdrop that can make you look like you live with penguins in their snow-covered realm! But that's not all---you get to view puffins and alcids, too. The puffins and the alcids have their own chilled-and-enclosed exhibit that provides you with perfect views while keeping you warm & in your comfort zone.
"Penguin Spotlight" tour at Seaworld Orlando

For an extra fee, you can take a special hour-long behind the scenes tour of the penguin exhibit---and you'll even get to feed & interact with a penguin! This special tour is called the Penguin Spotlight Tour. It lasts one hour. There is one tour time offered daily during the "slow season" at the park, and 2 tours offered during the spring and summer tourist seasons. How do you sign up for the tour? Make a beeline for the Guest Services desk, which you'll find just after you enter the theme park turnstiles. (You'll need to get your park map and show schedule there.) Simply let an employee know that you'd be interested in the tour. Times are not "set in stone" and may change from day to day. When you sign up and pay your extra fee, you will be informed of that day's tour time and where to rendezvous with your tour guide. What time do the Penguin Spotlight tours begin? What is the Penguin Spotlight tour schedule? Ha! Sea World Orlando will NOT commit to answering that question until the morning of each day's tour! Several people have asked the schedule...and I'd LIKE to give you an answer to that, but I can't. The special tour times at SeaWorld are genuinely not set until each morning. However, get to the park early. A rule of thumb is that the tour will most probably be around noon. If you don't arrive until the afternoon, chances are good that not only will the penguin tour be finished, but ALL of the special tours may already be either booked solid or finished for the day. If you would like to pre-reserve your tour spot online, here's a link to the Sea World Orlando tour tickets page on Sea World's official website, for your convenience. You will not be given a tour time, even if you pre-reserve. But you WILL be guaranteed a spot in the tour...which is very important during the park's busy season. Once you reserve your space, you'll need to get to the park early on the date of your tour, and find out its exact time at the Guest Relations desk. Next step...simply enjoy your penguin tour!
